Cash and card, tallied for you. Ring up cash sales in two taps, open the till with a float, count off at close. No shoebox maths at 9pm.
Illustrative mockups. Real names anonymised.
A real point of sale, hiding inside your jar
Everything a counter needs on the day, and nothing it doesn't.
One live queue, every device
Card orders and cash sales share one queue, synced live to every phone behind the counter. Mark an order done and it clears everywhere at once, so two helpers can't make the same sausage twice.
Cash sales without the mess
Ring up cash in two taps using the same menu. Cash is reported alongside your card takings but kept strictly separate from your payouts, so your reconciliation never gets muddled.
A till that balances itself
Open the till with a float, take cash all day, count the drawer at close. TipJar.nz works out what should be in there and shows you the variance. No envelope arithmetic.
Today at a glance
A running total for the day, split card versus cash, right there on the counter. You always know how the gala is tracking while it's still running.
No hardware, no app, no logins
Any phone with a browser is a POS. Helpers don't need TipJar.nz accounts, downloads, or training. Just the private link and the PIN. Rope in the whole committee in one group-chat message.
Customer details stay private
Helpers see names, orders, and amounts. Never email addresses or personal details. The counter screen is safe to wave around at a busy stall.
Nothing to install
Setting up takes a minute
Grab your POS link
Every jar comes with a private POS link. You'll find it in your jar's tools, next to your QR codes and posters.
Share it with your crew
Drop it in the group chat. Each helper opens it in their phone's browser. That's the whole install.
Unlock with the PIN
The link is secret and locked with a 4-digit PIN, so only your crew gets in. Lock it again (or rotate the link) any time from your dashboard.
The POS is free with every jar.
Card payments carry TipJar.nz's standard 2% commission: no monthly fees, no card-machine rental, no contracts. Recording cash sales costs nothing.
